OUR STORY

Creative Women of the World began in 2011. After a lifetime of accruing business experience and knowledge of international social goods, our founder decided to combine everything into a revolutionary nonprofit. Combining sustainable business training, art, and entrepreneurship, women become empowered to discover how they can lift themselves out of poverty.

OUR FOUNDER

Creative Women of the World (CWOW) founder, Lorelei VerLee, started her journey in 2007 when she helped start Haitian Artisans for Peace International (HAPI), a business that began by empowering women through creative marketing and artistry. This experience inspired Lorelei to found CWOW in 2011, facilitating the requests from other countries to be met. Thus far, Creative Women of the World has worked in eleven countries and buys from artisans in over 50.

WATCH

Teach Her to Fish is a documentary film explaining CWOW's early philosophy, while partnering with artisans in Haiti under HAPI (Haitian Artisans for Peace International):

CWOW not only responds to the need for outreach but also empowers women to recognize their own strengths, creativity, and talent. To use it to help themselves and their communities.
